Focus area 08 · Workers’ Welfare

Dignity, Rights, and Social Protection for Every Worker.

Raising awareness of workers’ rights, schemes and social security, and helping workers’ concerns reach the relevant departments.

A speaker with a microphone addresses a large outdoor gathering of working men, some seated on a red-and-black striped durrie, others standing.

Why it matters

Workers in the unorganised sector play an important role in the economy and in society.

Construction workers, domestic workers, street vendors, rickshaw drivers, daily-wage labourers and other informal workers may face employment insecurity, limited incomes and restricted access to social protection.

The Foundation aims to raise awareness of workers’ rights, available government schemes and social security facilities. It also seeks to support coordination with relevant departments and organisations to address workers’ concerns.
